Let’s address the elephant in the room. This blog post is long overdue, and the simple truth is, I’ve been my own worst enemy, battling my inner demons.
First and foremost, I apologize for letting it go this long. We aim to consistently deliver diverse content here, much more than other streamers of our “size.” And now, we’re back!
This blog space is my platform for honesty, devoid of sugar-coating. I hate to admit it, but the first week of March hit me hard. To give you a glimpse, when I’m live on stream, I don’t have access to view counts or any metrics. My motto is to stream authentically regardless of audience size. However, as creators, we’re naturally curious about our numbers, and unexpected dips can take a toll mentally. Towards the end of the first week of March, I noticed a significant drop in my numbers. A Twitch email confirming a drastic decline in percentages knocked me senseless. This sent me into a spiral of hyper-criticism, affecting my performance across various platforms – YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Patreon, and of course, Twitch.
So, why wasn’t I heading in the intended direction? The simple answer is: I wasn’t putting in enough effort. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but I don’t want this blog to dwell on negativity. Let’s focus on the positives and shake off the funk!
We’re reclaiming our uniqueness. Here, we offer more than just gaming streams. Our crisp website contains personal information, tech details, and a blog page. We produce informative YouTube videos and engage in upcoming story games and let’s plays. Our podcast not only features fellow creators but also community members. Additionally, we have community projects showcasing members during streams, whether it’s game play, memes, or just casual banter. Integrations like Lumia and Streamloots with brand-themed cards, supported by an amazing team, enrich our content. And most importantly, we have a welcoming community.
Every streamer boasts about their community being the best, and I won’t argue. I genuinely feel fortunate to be surrounded by such warm, genuine individuals.
Thank you for your patience. I’m only human (or a hobbit, according to some), after all. I hold myself to high standards, and I aim to deliver my best for all of you.
In the gaming realm, we’re knee-deep in Escape From Tarkov, particularly tackling the Light keeper grind. My perspective on EFT has shifted significantly, finding enjoyment beyond just PvP encounters. We’re embracing tasks and exploring new avenues on YouTube, aiming to provide insights into changes, bugs, and glitches within the community. We’re also planning to explore Grey Zone Warfare, so stay tuned for updates on that front.
From self-doubt to exhilarating streams filled with action and laughter, the journey has been a roller coaster. Changing my mindset regarding Escape From Tarkov has been instrumental. Setting goals per raid has not only boosted my mentality but also improved my attitude.
We’ve diversified our content, delving into games beyond Tarkov. Exploring darker dungeons has been intriguing, despite potential viewer boredom. DayZ presents its challenges, but we’re gradually finding our footing. Video creation for other games is proving to be a learning curve, but we’re making progress. Even if it’s a niche game like Level Zero, publishing a video is a victory in itself.
The week ended with laughter, but the flu struck over the weekend, halting productivity. Let’s hope to beat the flu early and tackle the upcoming week head-on.
On the video front, we’re expanding beyond Escape From Tarkov. Although I feel confident creating content for EFT, branching out to other games presents challenges. However, I’m committed to sharing what I’ve learned and helping others navigate new gaming experiences.
Editing is becoming more efficient, but I’m striving to enhance videos with additional details for a richer viewing experience. It’s a work in progress, but I’m definitely seeing progress over on the YouTube channel.
Scotland awaits, and I can’t wait for a weekend getaway with Tara. It’s our first trip without parental supervision, well, except for Meldj’s presence. But who’s counting?
Let’s keep pushing forward, creating more content, and embracing new challenges. The journey continues, and I’m excited to see where it takes us.
